  1. What is the purpose of this site?

The purpose of the site is to be a resource for people who want to know which famous investors to listen to, and which ones to ignore and/or ridicule. Tired of hearing blowhards on TV with no accountability? Let's hold them accountable here by entering the predictions you hear them make in the media.

  2. Who are you guys?

We're just average people who happen to know how to make websites, and have an interest in investing.
    Our co-founders are:

  3. John Swapceinski - Founder of RateMyProfessors.com, co-founder of RateMyTeachers.com, co-founder of RateMDs.com and president of Ratingz.net. John has an M.S. in Computer Science.

Joanne Wong - President of RateMDs.com. Joanne has an M.S. in Software Engineering.

  4. How much does this website cost me?

Nothing! The site is free to use. You will notice Google ads on most pages; we think ad-supported information is generally preferable to having to pay for information.

  5. Why isn't investor "so and so" listed?

Only because no one has added him/her yet. We rely on our visitors to add any missing famous investors; here is where you can add an investor. BTW, we also allow the addition of famous economists and government figures - anyone who makes economic or market predictions.

  6. How do I track investors?

The main steps are to find (or add) an investor you're interested in, and add any predictions of his that you know about. You can also update us on which open predictions have come true, and which have failed. Finally, you can discuss the predictions in our forum.

  7. Do I have to give you my name or email address?

In most cases, you are NOT required to create an account, log in, or enter your name or email address. However, we do require people to login when adding predictions for an investor for who we have noticed unusual activity.

  8. I've seen 'Want to login or Create an account?'. What's that all about?

No one is required to create an account to use the site, but creating an account will allow you to save your favorite investors to a list, and post to our forum.

  9. What do the smiley faces mean?

A yellow smiley face means the investor has a success percentage of at least 65% for his closed predictions. A green neutral face means the investor has a success percentage of between 35% and 65% for his closed predictions. A blue frown face means the investor has a success percentage of less than 35% for his closed predictions.

  10. Who can add predictions for an investor?

  11. Anyone! But please try to enter a URL that gives the source of the investor's prediction, whenever possible.

  12. Some of my comments got deleted. This investor really is a fat, ugly jerk. Why can't I say that?

Comments should be about professional ability and accuracy. New predictions are reviewed, and we reserve the right to delete comments or an entire prediction.

  13. How soon are the predictions posted?

Immediately! However, sometimes our webpages are cached for up to 2 minutes, so you may need to wait a minute or two to see your submission show up.

  14. What if I see an error with an investor, like if their name is spelled wrong or even if they aren't real investors?

On many pages, you will see a link or button labeled 'Correct above investor info' near the top of the page. Just click on that link and tell us what is wrong.

  15. What if I see a prediction with a problem? I know you said you review all predictions, but what if you miss one that is not OK?

You are right - every now and then an inappropriate prediction gets by us the first time. You will see a red flag associated with each prediction. When you click that flag, the prediction is sent back to us to review again. If it should not have been accepted, we will remove it.

  16. What is your privacy policy?

You can view our Privacy Policy here, but the main thing is: we will not give out identifying information on a user without a court order, unless there is a threat of physical violence in the comment.

  17. You guys didn't answer my question. How can I contact you?

Email us here. We read every email but only respond to those not covered in this FAQ. (No, we don't respond to threats!)
